A few highlights from our micro loans program:
Next steps:
We are in the process of providing business training and ongoing business support to 611 women this month and in September. This implies that 611 new women entrepreneurs will join our family and will be ready to start/expand businesses. I will send a few pictures from the recent training sessions.
Long term Impact:
Some of the direct results of your support are:
- Women are more financially literate, on the path to economic self-reliance and feel empowered,
- each year more than 2,000 children are able to attend school,
- families are eating 3 meals per day as compared to 1-2 meals,
- women are spending more on food, education and household items such as chairs, TV’s, kitchen utensils, and
- many women are purchasing plots/building material to build or expand their homes for rental income.
Finally, a few characteristics of our micro loans program are:
1. A small donation makes a disproportionately large and quick impact. The transformation that families experience starts in as short a time as 3-6 months. (This is good as I know that you all are in a hurry to make a significant impact 
).
2. Your funds are “forever funds“. Once the loan is returned, the same funds are available to a new entrepreneur. Your funds keep working to create new entrepreneurs every year long after you have forgotten you made the donation. This means by supporting 10 women today, you will be supporting 10 women next year, the following year, and so on.
In brief, your dollars "get big results quickly, the results are sustained, and create ever bigger ripples."
